Can I use the South Africa eSIM as a mobile hotspot?

Hotspot and tethering are allowed on the ETravelSim South Africa eSIM's fixed-data plans (1 GB, 5 GB, 10 GB, 25 GB, and 50 GB), but not on the Unlimited plans, which are designed for single-device use. If you need to share data with a laptop, tablet, or another phone on long road trips between Cape Town and the Eastern Cape, pick the 25 GB or 50 GB plan. Tethered data draws from your plan allowance like any other usage.

FAQs

Will my eSIM work worldwide?

eTravelSIM works across multiple networks in each covered country. However, your phone must be factory‑unlocked and eSIM‑capable. Coverage and 5G/4G availability vary by network.

Dual SIM: can I keep my home number active?

Yes—most modern devices support Dual SIM (eSIM + physical SIM). You can keep calls/SMS on your home SIM and use eTravelSIM for data while abroad. Configure default lines in Settings.

I can’t see eSIM options in Settings

Update to the latest OS, restart, and check again. If still missing, your device/region/carrier may have eSIM disabled. Please contact your carrier or device maker.
